Moanalua High did not make it into the top 4 finalists. When polling closed at roughly 7:10p.m. Hawaii time (10:10pm Pacific Time) Moanalua was 37 votes behind the leading school.

Despite the polling having suddenly closed roughly an entire 2 hours earlier than promised, this contest has been an amazing experience for the team at Moanalua. Thank you SO MUCH from the bottom of our hearts to each and every person who voted. It was because of the support from our friends and family of Hawaii (and the friends and family of our friends and family of Hawaii =D) that we made it this far.

It’s truly regrettable that polling abruptly closed 2 hours earlier than the stipulated time and it seems that Vans is not going to acknowledge or do anything about it. But regardless of the messy handling of this contest, the Aloha spirit must live on! Mahalo to all the brothers and sisters that voted! \””/ (It’s a shaka =D)

Unfair early closing of polls

Moanalua was making a huge comeback but was abruptly cut short when polls closed TWO HOURS EARLY.

Vans stated polls would close at 11:59pm PT (which is 9pm Hawaii time)

this is very unfair, so if you are just as confused about this mistake as we are, please make your voice heard at the discussion topic on the Vans Custom Culture Facebook page

Two hours of voting makes a huge difference and Moanalua was definitely rising.

Vans specified that polling session would close at 11:59pm PST. It was not 11:59 PST when polls close. Even as of this moment it is only 10:28pm PST.

Please keep eyes open and be aware that the closing of the polls at this time might be a major error.
